What our customers say
Elmfield Place, Tenterden
Duncan and Elsa Mattey
When retired couple Duncan and Elsa Mattey decided to downsize, they were keen to stay
in the picturesque market town of Tenterden. Fortunately, they found that Elmfield Place
offered just the low maintenance lifestyle they were looking for.
Duncan comments: "Our previous house was too big to manage and although we had some
help, we felt it was time to move on. Our new duplex apartment is really spacious, Elmfield Place really is very well designed and its close proximity to local amenities is ideal. I dont know why we didn’t downsize sooner and I would certainly suggest to anyone else who is thinking the same not to leave it too late!"”
Elsa adds: “As a new home, it is also nice to know that there will be no maintenance to take care of for some time. We also both like that there are two separate outdoor areas, in the form of the courtyard garden on the lower floor and terrace on the first floor. Moreover, with the accommodation over two floors, it also still retains the feeling that we are in a house."

Elmfield Place, Tenterden
Peter and Sheila Lake
Even before planning had been granted for Elmfield Place, local retired couple Peter and Shelia Lake knew it would be right for them. The couple wanted to downsize from their detached home in Tenterden and had been keeping a close eye on progress at the collection, as Peter explains:
We heard about Elmfield Place prior to planning being obtained and it sounded perfect. It was also the only scheme we viewed and we waited until the development was completed to choose the right home for us. We have been living here for a while now and have found our two bedroom apartment to be more than ideal for our needs.
Peter continues:Its just a more convenient lifestyle and our home even enjoys a balcony overlooking the landscaped gardens. We downsized to be nearer the town, which is within walking distance and by buying new it meant we would not need to worry about the garden or the exterior decoration, as it is taken care of on our behalf. Both Shelia and I agree that downsizing to Elmfield Place was the right decision and it leaves us free to enjoy the rest of our retirement without needing to worry about the maintenance or security of our home.
Elmfield Place, Tenterden
Major Taylor and Carol Webb

When local couple Major Taylor and Carol Webb first discovered that Appledore
Developments were to build in Tenterden, something about the scheme intrigued them.
However, the Taylor-Webbs had not planned to move so soon as Carol explains:
We werent looking to move and hadnt even thought about putting our house on the market, but the new Appledore Development is so delightful, we couldnt resist! We were so impressed by the quality of workmanship and effort which has been put into Elmfield Place that we had to reserve our property so we didnt miss out. There has been a great deal of thought and care put into the homes and we are thrilled with the way our duplex apartment is taking shape.
Carol continues:he architecture and design of the building is very imaginative and fits in so well with the rest of the town, its absolutely delightful. We have come from a very traditional home only 200 yards away from Elmfield Place and have lived in the town for many years. With our new apartment we will actually have more space to entertain, due to the large living area downstairs and drawing room on the upper floor, ideal for when our grandchildren come over.

Rameslie, Rye
Roberta Prout
When Roberta Prout was looking to move, local Estate Agents Calcutt Maclean Standen
had the perfect home in mind for her at the Rameslie development in Rye built by awardwinning Appledore Developments Ltd. Roberta comments:
My daughter phoned me from the estate agents to tell me that she had seen plans for a development in Rye that she knew I would be interested in. I went to visit with my son the next day and reserved my new two bedroom townhouse off-plan.
Roberta continues: I was previously living in Petts Wood but I have always wanted to live in Rye. The historic location is fantastic because you can walk everywhere and there are plenty of local amenities close by. My home is just as lovely and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design. I particularly like the conservatory because it is so light. In fact visitors often remark on how light and airy the home feels.
Oast Place, Wadhurst
Julian Ryder-Richardson
What better compliment could a developer receive than an architect purchasing one of
its exclusive new homes? That is exactly what happened at Oast Place, in Wadhurst,
where renowned architect Julian Ryder-richardson bought the converted Oast House there. Julian explains the reasons for selecting his new luxury home:
Apart from being a remarkable and unusual property, The Oast House is situated
exactly where Id hoped to settle; Wadhurst. I lived in the village more than 40 years ago
and felt it was time to return. I also have family living close by so it really is perfect.
When questioned as to why he didnt want to build his own dream home.
Julian replied: The Oast House enjoys a fantastic plot of land, which is often very hard to come by and Appledore Developments has given a great deal of consideration in
sympathetically restoring what was a former industrial building. The foot-print of the existing building has not been exceeded and careful attention to detail has been paid to altering the floor level on the first floor, as well as meticulously replacing the white cowl which, of course, depicts an oast house.
He continues: The house is very highly specified and has an imaginative layout, which suits my needs exactly. I have found Appledore staff to be very friendly and efficient throughout my purchase and I look forward to settling into my new home and enjoying the range of amenities
Wadhurst has to offer.
