Appledore Developments has scooped yet another award at the prestigious What House Awards 2008. The multi award-winning developer received a Bronze Award in the Best Brownfield Development category, for The Old Pottery in Rye.

The housebuilder’s innovative planning team has created an outstanding site development with high standards of architectural design. The exterior of The Old Pottery development draws on the town’s seagoing past; the tall buildings are based on fisherman’s cottages and feature pale weatherboard cladding. The apartments, townhouses and detached house all overlook the adjacent River Tillingham and make the most of the refreshing waterside views with folding façade glazing which leads onto decked terraces from the living room.

Appledore Developments won an esteemed award at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards ceremony in 2005. The company collected the Best Apartment award in the 100 units or less category for its Show Apartment at Elmfield Place, Tenterden in Kent.

The company is absolutely thrilled to have won the Evening Standard New Homes Award for Best Apartment.  As a specialist niche developer it prides itself on attention to detail and its dedication to building highly specified, well-designed properties.  This award recognises Appledore Development's hard work and level of commitment they put into the homes they build.

The Evening Standard New Homes Awards are coveted awards, which celebrate the hightest standard of skills, design and craftmanship in todays new homes.  Both professionals from the industry and readers of the Evening Standard judge the awards.  The category for Best New Apartment has become the most competitive section of the competition and received the most entries in 2005.

The judges commented that the Show Apartment at Elmfield Place was in a traditional village setting, stylish and modern in design while excellent in quality.

Appledore Developments were Highly Commended at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards ceremony in 2003 for its Leech Court development in Rochester, Kent. Built for Tower Homes, the company renovated a Victorian industrial property into apartments and homes for the housing association. The company used the exterior shell of the building, keeping the outer signage that was so well known in the local area, thus retaining the original charm and character of the property.
